Harry C. Knowles, 73, of Rt. 1, Veedersburg, died Sunday (July 18, 1971) at Lake View Hospital, Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient since July 7. He had been in failing health two years. Born in Shawnee Township March 3, 1898, he was the son of Albert and Louise Fink Knowles. He was a farmer all his life and was a life resident of the area. His marriage in Veedersburg in 1918 was to Muriel Vanarsdel, who preceded him in death in 1950. In 1951 he married Mary Suouweart, who survives. Also surviving are a brother, Albert of Newtown; two sisters, Mary Conner of Mellott, and Mrs. Everett Miller of Veedersburg; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children, Mrs. Maxine Kimbrell and Paul Harry Knowles, along with a brother, William. Services Thursday at Maus Funeral Home with Rev. Harry C. Randolph officiating. Burial in Union Christian Cemetery at Veedersburg.  -- typed by Barbara B
